Moving away from their top-of-the-line casting numbers has a central expert who explains: “The original idea behind the touring motorcycle was partly to make a motor-transport system for interesting and individual people.
After a few years, though, changes in this function could not help but be set about. It was gradually inspired and informed by grown-up men who had their own cars too but whom both went for marcches and took part in international rallies.”

“The CT never was about some really batty features or following fads,” recalls Rajesh Sharma over a quarter century on from having watched youngsters at the gate of his Kanpur home ever-so-slowly become revved up but determined bikers.
“The focus from the start has been on getting down to basics—so that at its price point, motorcycle ownership becomes possible for a typical Indian. With this new model, in 125cc they’ve simply broadened what ‘basic’ means today.”
Design that is simple, practical and unassuming. CT 125 maintains the unadorned appearance typical of its range, though small differences set it apart from a low-ender.
Tank shrouds show sharper edges than previously (on the CT 110). Moreover side panels now feature different graphics and these serve to highlight contrast without straying unnecessarily far into ornamentation. Ravishing pieces include standard a sturdy engine guard that acknowledges the probable destiny of this rough mount.
Surprisingly well into this strange frame of reference (as might be expected on any duty bike, actually) during two week trial rides on rural Maharashtra shakedown-thumping spikes were tested time again and once more.
If anything did ever make contact, it would be only its head. Indeed these thoughtful design elements shone brightly in hard field tests.
When the bike tipped over on loose gravel during a photo stop, absolutely no engine case or frame damage occurred because there is this crash guard, which is specifically designed for such an eventuality.
The seat has also been lengthened and flattened so that it can accommodate passengers of different heights while also having room to carry cargo or a pillion rider.
The grab rail is markedly solid and, like the dual-purpose nature of the machine (transporter of both people and goods over dirt), stands as an indication to this fact for many owners.
“They’ve incorporated what was good about it and improved what needed work done,” says Vijay Patil, a courier service operator who owns a fleet of CTs. “The wider seat is absolutely tremendous for my riders who use these machines for 8-10 hours a day.”
Performance: Tailored to Its Purpose
The heart of the CT 125 is a 124.4cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 10.9 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 11 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm.
These figures won’t impress sport riders in the least, but they represent a substantial 25% increase over the CT 110 and make a huge difference in how the bike feels to ride.
We would notice immediately when highway-testing from Pune to Nashik if these increased horses really made any difference, especially since averaging 70-80 km/h over long sections is an everyday task for inter-city commutes.
On the 110cc bike, effort at exceeding these speeds was tangible but on the 125 it merely takes an occasional burst of power for overtaking.
The gearbox’s five ratios are well spaced and help to make efficient use of the engine’s output characteristics, but the change action remains noisy-a reminder that this is a budget bike.
The clutch action is light enough for relaxing city riding, an important factor for those within its target group who often have to spend long periods of time in stop-and- go traffic.
Fuel consumption is sectional priority, opposed to efficiency(though it remains decent for a machine of its power). Over 300km mixed riding, the CT 125 posted consistent readings of 65-70km/l(42-45mi/gal) in very varied settings or 750km from tall(11l) tank.
Anand Kumar, who recently switched to a CT 100, said, “For my 35-kilometer daily commute each way I only need to fill up once a week now.”
“That extra power means I’m not continuously wringing the throttle to maintain speed, which most likely aids efficiency to some extent.”
Ride quality: Relevant Upgrades
At Mumbai’s poorly paved roads, the suspension proved surprisingly adept in the handling of rough bumps, soaking them up without running out of travel.

Brake effectiveness gets a sizable boost with the enhancement of a 130mm drum up front as well as Bajaj’s integrated braking system.
Although it also conspicuously lacks a disc brake alternative (most likely to keep prices competitive as can be), these stopping powers prove quite sufficient for real world use.
“The braking is true—it does not bite back suddenly or choose then to fade, which is actually safer for folks with fewer miles under their belt,” comments Mihir Desai, an instructors motorcycle who uses the CT to coach those just learning to ride on pavement.
“In case of accident, the integrated braking system helps prevent that beginner characteristic wheel-lockup at rear which comes as a shock.” Class…
Practicality : The Decisive Factor
Throughout the test, many of these practical features of CT 125 were unexpected nice unexpected surprises. The tank also bear USB port-very much in keeping with today’s connected world yet without innuendo.
Footrests made from rubber clad rubber-rather than polymers like those remembered from childhood in Bombay originals -have more resistance before failure even under equally heavy abuse. The tool kit is more than adequate for any simple jobs at roadside.
This Moto Guzzi does however feel heavier when rolling compared with the similarly-engined Triumph Woodpecker. Moto Morini’s Camel 500 made its domestic debut in April and won both the championship; this is the bike that defected from Benelli in 1940.
Formerly it was nothing more than a brand name until it was purchased by Cleland and George Sprague in 2005.After that it became the CCM.
Although you no longer see spokes on the clutch casing, Moto Guzzi now fits Bosch MEP injection system instead of the Gemini.
Turning the choke control gradually increases engine speed in place of the usual throttle twist, and then when combined with lowest possible gear allows for instant starting on any hill.
Even with an ample 180cc, 1.7 hp engine output in our forthcoming tests we will verify how this model performs upon grades above a 1.5% incline.

The CT 125 isn’t competing with feature-laden 125cc offerings,” explains market analyst Priya Sharma. “It’s targeting pragmatic buyers who need the additional power and refinement of a 125cc engine but cannot justify spending 20-30% more for features they may not use regularly.”
With an ex-showroom price starting at ₹69,500, the CT 125 positions itself as an entry point to the 125cc segment, undercutting competitors like the Honda Shine and Hero Super Splendor by a significant margin. Bajaj CT 125 come in sporty look
The Bajaj CT 125 succeeds by knowing exactly what it is and who it’s for. It doesn’t attempt to be the most stylish, the most feature-rich, or the most sophisticated option in its segment.
Instead, it delivers a robust, practical, and efficient commuting tool with just enough improvements over smaller-displacement alternatives to justify its existence.
Inwards the increasingly rugged and saddle-worn Indian market, on its back that means poor Indian can be on this 125cc motorcycle as soon as tomorrow: not only because it is nearly dirt cheap but also because of its splendid handling carrying capacity/carries everything well on rear rack plus a one-piece gel-cushioned seat with said girth bark for comfort.
